    • From: gordonb
    • Description:

Ledgend has it that Zeus released 2 doves from mount Olympus to circle the world in opposite directions.  They met at Delphi and thus Delphi is the centre, or navel, of the world.  Heather, a teacher from Ottawa, and Rebekah, a surgical nurse from Miami, met also at Delphi and are showing their solidarity with one of the many monuments representing a navel there.

Volunteer teams install rain-catchment tanks for indigenous schools on remote islands where disease from bad water is rampant.  Everyone needs safe drinking water. Indigenous kids can't live without it.

Operation Safe Drinking Water volunteers install rain-catchment tanks for indigenous schools which have no safe drinking water.  Based in the Bocas del Toro archipelago on the Caribbean side of Panama, we provide safe drinking water.  Almost all indigenous kids have worms from bad water, leading to anemia, dysentery and malnutrition.

Question: why should indigenous children be sick from bad water where it rains a lot?

Our tanks are simple, easy-to-maintain, last for years ..and refill every time it rains.

We're an all - volunteer non-profit charity. No one receives a salary or compensatiion.
