Description: A day trip from the Drakensberg Mountains into a small rural village in Lesotho goes awry due to an immense amount of rain, a flooded river and the fact that the only road to the border with South Africa runs through this river. After attempting to cross the river and having the van die in the middle of the river, all 12 of us had to evacuate the van through the window, into the raging river. Needless to say, the day trip turned into an overnight trip, and there was a chance we were going to miss our safari 2 days later! In the end, we made it, but certainly not without some work on our part to find our own alternate transportation from the border the following day. Still makes a great story though!
